Finance Director

Axon Moore are partnering with a leading retail business in the Leeds area to recruit a Finance Director.

This successful business with a strong brand is seeking to appoint a Finance Director who can help drive a positive change agenda within the business and help to maximise its profitability and performance in the coming years.

The Finance Director will be working as part of a talented board and leadership team to help take the business forwards.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

• Leading the finance function, ensuring all reporting requirements are met, and that finance is represented to the highest of standards across the business
• Oversee the budget and forecast process, ensuring the business has a strong line of sight for future projections
• Carrying out detailed financial analysis of the main drivers and risks for the business’ success and profitability
• Manage third party relationships to ensure compliance, regulatory and statutory requirements and standards are adhered to, including banks, auditors, insurers etc
• Work closely with commercial stakeholders to scrutinise contracts and customer agreements
• Support operational functions of the business to aid decision making and ensure alignment to the overall strategic goals of the business
• Analyse systems and processes to ensure financial reporting procedures run as efficiently as possible

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and experiences:

• Qualified finance leader, ideally with experience within a retail (or similar) sector
• First class interpersonal skills, able to work with a variety of stakeholders and lead by example
• Commercial mindset, able to drive change and improvements across many facets of the organisation
