Axon Moore are engaged on a search for a Director of Finance for a large scale and successful private equity backed retail / ecommerce client in the West Yorkshire region.
This is a high profile role within the organisation, with close interaction with the Group CFO, the board and senior leaders within the business.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Reporting into an excellent Group CFO, leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Providing strategic financial guidance to the Group CFO and senior management, aligning financial plans with the company’s goals for growth, profitability, and market expansion
- Acting as a trusted advisor to key business functions (e.g., operations, commercial, and logistics) to ensuring finance are integrated into decision-making processes, helping teams achieve operational efficiency and financial success
- Managing cash flow, liquidity, and working capital, ensuring the business maintains sufficient cash reserves for operational needs and growth opportunities
- Leading the financial forecasting and budgeting process, ensuring a robust approach to predicting financial performance
- Manipulating data to model future performance, identify trends, and anticipating challenges in a rapidly changing e-commerce environment
- Overseeing and leading the preparation of accurate and timely consolidated statutory accounts
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following skills and experience:
- Qualified Finance Leader, with experience in a financial leadership role in a similar industry, such as retail, ecommerce, distribution, logistics etc
- Strong commercial finance mindset and experience, backed up by rigorous controls and technical accounting experience
- Able to balance delegation with a hands on approach
- Able to challenge senior stakeholders effectively, possessing the gravitas and emotional intelligence to influence and support
