About the Role  

Axon Moore are recruiting a Supply Chain & Logistics Assistant for a well-established, fast paced business based in Manchester city centre. The company operates within the leisure sector and you will report into the Supply Chain & Logistics Lead, supporting on the day to day tasks needed to fulfil the role.

You will support with all aspects of supply chain on the retail side, including logistics, procurement, stock control and customer service, as well as assisting in the coordination of transportation and distribution of goods. You will be required to be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite in order to carry out admin and reporting duties.

Salary & Benefits – £23,000 - £25,000 depending on experience, 22 days holiday plus banks, central location with hybrid working 2 days from home, pension, simply health benefits enabling you to claim for dentist, prescriptions, massages, etc. Flexibility in working hours.

Main Duties 
  • Assist with new supplier onboarding
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers
  • Proactively monitor inventory levels, addressing shortages to minimise disruption
  • Manage slow moving stock to maximise efficiency
  • Analyse price and terms quotations from suppliers and make recommendations on cost, quality and delivery
  • Oversee sourcing and procurement of products ensuring quality and availability of product
  • Collaborate with various sites to ensure availability of product, transfers and accurate inventory management
  • Collaborate with freight forwarders to identify distribution solutions, focusing on cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality
  • Manage the creation of purchase orders, making sure everything is documented properly.
  • Resolve any queries while maintaining excellent service levels.
  • Continuously looking to improve processes and best practice.
Person specification 
  • No experience necessary, although administration experience would be beneficial
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office suite, including Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative with an inquisitive nature
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Confident communicator both written and verbally
  • Desire to challenge and improve existing processes
