Your new company

Your new company is a well established business in Barrow-In-Furness. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join the team on a permanent basis.

Your new role
  • Investigate and problem-solve financial anomalies to ensure accounts are accurately reflected. 
  • Deliver continuous improvement of key Finance processes.
  • Assist colleagues by investigating member queries ensuring a positive outcome for those members.
  • Provide support to the purchase ledger manager, including logging invoices and making payments.
  • Assist with month end processes that include, bank reconciliations, journal input and assist with adhoc reporting.
  • Support the interim and year end audit, providing and interpreting financial data to the external auditors.
  • Manage suspense accounts and return members money in a timely manner.

What you'll need to succeed
  • AAT qualified / part qualified.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good Problem solving skills
  • Quick Learner
  • Ability to work alone as well as being  part of a team
  • Bank reconciliation experience, knowledge or debits / credits 
  • Experience of using Sage is preferable but not essential
  • Experience of using Excel
