A very rare opportunity has just become available for one of East Lancashire’s most innovative and brand strong manufacturing organisations. This company boast a portfolio of clients including one major blue chip global brand.
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join a very established team.
This role will be working Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5pm and Friday 7:30am to 4pm
Salary from £37-£40k dependent on experience.

1. Materials Management
- Inventory Control: Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production requirements without overstocking. Implement Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory systems to minimize holding costs.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials. Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all materials meet the required quality standards. Collaborate with the quality control team to address any material-related issues.
- Cost Management: Monitor and control material costs to stay within budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, alternative suppliers, or improved negotiation strategies.
- Inbound Logistics: Coordinate the receipt of raw materials, ensuring timely delivery and proper storage. Manage relationships with logistics providers to optimize inbound transportation.
- Outbound Logistics: Oversee the distribution of finished products to customers. Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery through effective routing and transportation management.
- Warehouse Management: Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, and shipping. Implement best practices for inventory accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
3. Team Leadership and Development
- Team Management: Lead and manage the MP&L team, providing clear direction and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for team members. Facilitate ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Performance Management: Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations. Provide feedback and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure team effectiveness.
4. Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives related to materials, planning, and logistics. Align MP&L activities with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Reporting: Develop and maintain KPIs for materials, planning, and logistics functions. Provide regular reports to senior management on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, inventory shortages, and other potential issues. Develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordination with Other Departments: Work closely with production, sales, finance, and quality control teams to ensure seamless operations. Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments.
- Customer Service: Support the sales and customer service teams by ensuring reliable and timely delivery of products. Address any logistics-related customer issues promptly and effectively.
