Axon Moore are working with a business operating in the Property sector to appoint an Service Charge Accountant. The business operates multiple sites within commercial property and cover a lot of other disciplines, making it a one stop shop. This is small, but vibrant company with great growth prospects and people at the heart of their focus.
The role looks after all Service Charge matters and processes, owning the reconciliations and reporting under RICS. There will be around 60 properties and you will manage all of this through their PM&A system Tramps. This is a complex system, so experience would be welcomed. Please note, this role falls under the property management team and is not a core finance role.
Salary and benefits:
Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 DOE, 27 days holiday plus banks, 6% pension, hybrid working 3 days in, 2 out, 37.5 hours p/w with flexibility around core hours, Medicash, 2x life cover, employee assistance schemes. Responsibilities include:
- Owning the company service charge reporting and reconciliation responsibilities under RICS for c.60 properties with service charge.
- Agreeing service charge budgets and producing budget packs for clients and tenants.
- Reconciling tenant charges on account and client void charges.
- Reporting on variances and corrective action/forecasting.
- Performing year end lease reconciliations to ensure all cost is recovered (tenant or landlord voids) and the service charge balances.
- Overseeing the issue of balancing charges or credits to tenants.
- Handling queries from clients and tenants.
- Where required liaising with independent audit.
- Any ad-hoc work as required.
- Experience in a Service Charge role, preferably commercial property
- Any form of qualification is welcome, however it’s preferable that this role fits in line with your career aspirations
- Good knowledge of MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc)
- Preferable to have experience of using a Property Management system such as Tramps, Cube, Yardi, etc.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
- Work and communicate in a mature, courteous and professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
