Join Our Clients Global Team as the Purchasing Manager- Hybrid- Permanent- £45k plus bonus
Based in Blackburn, Lancashire, our manufacturing client have a global reach with multiple award winning products
Overview
Reporting to the Supply Chain manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers to secure the best deals, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the timely delivery of products, materials and services
Your key responsibilities:
Purchase goods, materials, components and services in accordance with specified technical, quality and delivery requirements
Analysing market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions
Responsible for purchasing of capital equipment, working closely with all related departments.
Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers
Sourcing and introduction of new Suppliers, developing current specifications and supplier evaluation and approval.
Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
Interface with other departments and suppliers for all matters related to the procurement of materials, equipment and services.
Monitoring, reviewing and maintaining inventory levels in accordance with the business needs, Managing Material flow with Suppliers and internal customers.
Monitor and control requests for purchases against existing purchase limits.
To travel abroad as and when required to carry out duties connected with the role.
Participation in internal and supplier audits
To be instrumental in reviewing and improving purchasing practices ad standards and developing working procedures and documentation to implement improvements.
Responsible for rejecting materials back on supplier’s obtaining CAPA’s from suppliers and removing material from stock once accepted by supplier.
Responsible for updating company risk register for the purchasing function and working closely with suppliers to mitigate those risks

The post holder will undertake their duties and responsibilities in full accordance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and procedures.
Development & Learning:
The post holder will be expected to develop their understanding of new technologies by undertaking training when requested.
Education & Training:
Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) preferred but not essential
A recognised qualification in manufacturing or supply chain management

- Minimum of 3 years purchasing experience preferably in a large manufacturing Company
- Knowledge on contract law and legislation/documentation relating to purchasing from overseas.
- MRP Systems
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound organisational skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- liase with suppliers, and internal personnel at all levels with an ability to influence.
- Able to work within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail.
