Axon Moore are working with a large PE backed business based in Oldham to recruit a Part-Qualified Management Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and successful company who are looking to bring in a dynamic part-qualified accountant. This role will provide the opportunity to be mentored by a high calibre Finance Business Partner within a hands-on environment.
The role will also pick up regular, reactive ad-hoc work from the FBPs and FP&A and Controls Director depending on requirements, involvement in the Group tasks and maintaining the control environment.
Salary and benefits:
Salary - £35-40k DOE plus study support, 25 days holiday plus your birthday and bank holidays, pension, free parking, 9-5 core hours and hybrid working (2 days in the office).

Responsibilities include:
- Complete timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management
- Assist in the reporting and management of the working capital components of the businesses with specific attention to stock, debtors and cash balances
- Assist with Monthly P&L forecasting
- Deliver to reporting times, maintain the accuracy of all journals and final GL balances
- Support the continuous monitoring & review of contract and sector performance against projections
- Support the business to deliver insightful business plan and regular P&L forecasts
- Support the consolidation of budgets and short term forecasts to meet the needs of the business
- Provide finance support to Operational P&L managers and support operational colleagues and other stakeholders to improve financial acumen and awareness
- Work closely with the Finance Business Partner to ensure the delivery of information that will ensure the ongoing management of the current and future health of the sector including income, expenditure and long term planning
- Liaise with wider Group to ensure the Finance Department is providing the necessary support for the businesses
- Assist the maintenance of a rolling risks and ops log
- Assist commercial decision-making
- Assist the development of BI to provide insight ensuring control, profitable growth and effective decision-making
- Support a culture of continuous cash improvement
- Support internal stakeholders, specifically across Finance to ensure timely, insightful and accurate monthly management information to agreed time-lines.
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant role
- Qualified AAT or part qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Intermediate Excel skills (VLookup/Pivot tables) are essential
- Good commercial awareness and able to influence at all levels
- Experience of financial reporting for multiple entities
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail
- Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills – approachable and down to earth with good communication skills
