About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager, who is self-motivated and meticulous in their approach. You will be responsible for all financial operations and prompt reporting to Group for this entity, working closely with the Group FD, Managing Director and the wider team. You will oversee a team of 4 other staff, managing and mentoring accordingly.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary £40-50k DOE study support, out-of-town location with parking, workplace pension, casual dress code on Fridays, 25 days holiday plus and bank holidays and extra for long service.

What we are looking for you to do/key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 4 and being number one in finance, reporting to Group FD.
- Work with the MD to give strong day to day oversight on the business’ financial matters.
- Manage various month end deadlines for accounts and reporting, as well as annual audit – leading this from pre-planning meeting to data requests.
- Liaising with the Group FD on annual budgets and periodic forecasts, including daily cash-flow updates.
- Prepare and upload overseas intrastate and VAT returns.
- Manage foreign exchange across GBP, USD, EUR and update daily cash summary.
- Manage the CAPEX spend process and raising forms for approval.
- Manage all banking administration and compliance
- Oversee the sales and purchase ledger teams, reviewing and reconciling aged debt.
- Calculate sales team/agent’s commissions.
- Reporting before and after stock take and include a quarterly update on variances and valuations.
- Mentoring the team, doing appraisals and ensuring their development, safety and wellbeing.
- Professional certification i.e. AAT/CIMA etc. or Qualified By Experience. A minimum of 2 years as a Management Accountant or Finance Manager or similar would be essential.
- Proficient Microsoft Office suite user, especially Excel.
- Budgeting and cash-flow experience would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
- A self-motivated individual with acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
- An ability to form good working relationships both in person and by phone/e-mail.
