Job description

I am delighted to now be recruiting for a newly Finance Business Partner for a rapidly growing group of companies in York.

Since their PE investment in 2021, this business has grown significantly both organically and through acquisition!

Following their most recent acquisition this year, they are now looking to hire a Finance Business Partner into a newly created role, reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance.

The successful candidate will drive business engagement and provide robust insight into revenue and cost of sale performance, deepening understanding, lessening risk, and equipping the business to improve performance and profitability.

You will lead forecasting and budget cycles, providing valuable insight and modelling, with high quality presentation. You will also work closely with the commercial team on new business opportunities and M&A opportunities.

The key duties of the role include:
  • Business Partner the Chief Commercial Officer and team to provide support and understanding of business performance to drive decision making, including provision of timely, accurate and relevant reporting on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Establish robust working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Become the key finance contact for your areas of responsibility, establishing yourself as a critical and trusted member of their management team.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed Revenue & Gross Margin budgets, forecasts, rolling forecasts and 3-year strategic plans in line with business deadlines, supporting the process with clear. communication and high quality output, supporting both the Commercial team and the FP&A Lead
  • Support the development of KPI reporting, enhancing both existing reporting and identifying new relevant KPIs for the Commercial team.
  • Champion continuous improvement and standardisation of processes, including implementation of best practices and automation initiatives, collaborating with technology teams.
  • Ad hoc analysis and project involvement as required
  • Actively support the management accounts team, sharing knowledge and insights to enable commercial understanding across the teams
  • Work alongside the rest of the FP&A team and wider finance team to promote good working practices and collaboration
The successful candidate will:

  • Be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with experience of budgeting, forecasting and KPI production - Essential
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to develop good relationships across the business - Essential
  • Be a confident IT user with advanced Excel skills able to manage large and complex data sets - Essential
  • Have previous experience working in private equity - Desirable
