Job description

The Company 

Axon Moore are recruiting a new Billing and Cash Manager role for a well-established, fast paced business based in Manchester city centre. The company specialises in offering services to the public and not for profit sectors and operate globally. You will work out of the city centre office and liaise with others remotely in overseas offices.

About the Role  
The Billing and Cash Manager will support the AR Manager in managing the whole AR function, with responsibility for all aspects of billing and cash allocation. You will oversee a team of 4 (one of which is fully remote) and will be experienced in the duties listed below. You will also work closely with the Group Financial Controller.

Salary & Benefits – £38,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, 10% performance related bonus, 24.5 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension. Hybrid working pattern, set to 3 days in, 2 from home.

Main Duties 
  • Manage and encourage the performance of a team of 4, including goal setting, KPI measurement, coaching and appraisals.
  • Manage cash across multiple ledgers which involves multiple currencies
  • Maintain customer accounts, ensuring unreconciled receipts are monitored and money is received and allocated
  • Ensure the collection of all Direct Debit collections
  • Responsible for billings and ensuring the accuracy of invoices
  • Liaising and helping the AR Manager to manage the Credit Control Helpdesk and ensure queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner, with excellent levels of customer service.
  • Monitoring accounts, ensuring they are cleared down
  • Ensuring refunds are processed
  • Assist the AR Manager with onboarding new clients
  • Work alongside the Management Accountant/Group FC to give insight into unallocated cash
  • Ensure month-end is carried out according to company timeframe
  • Work with the Group FC to deliver process improvements and efficiencies
  • Any ad-hoc/cover work as needed.
Person specification 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in a billing/cash role
  • Intermediate Excel skills are hugely essential (eg. Lookups, Pivots, etc.)
  • Experience with international transactions and multicurrency would be highly beneficial
  • Strong people-person, experience in managing people would be beneficial
  • Desire to challenge and improve existing processes
  • Ability to work on own initiative with an inquisitive nature
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Confident communicator both written and verbally
