The Company
Axon Moore are working with a large IT business based just on the outskirts of Manchester city centre to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract (maternity cover).
You will be preparing and delivering accurate and timely management accounts, predominantly focused on revenue and margin alongside balance sheet reconciliations. Working alongside various departments including commercial, finance, contracts, project management, etc.
Salary and Benefits:
£30-35k per annum, 25 days’ holiday plus banks and the option to buy up to 5 more days, your birthday and 1 celebration day. Your Role:
- Accurate and timely completion of designated month end activities including revenue and cost of sales recognition.
- Timely reconciliation of all assigned control accounts/balance sheet items against transactional or 3rd party information, for management review.
- Preparing and posting journals including accruals and prepayments with a focus on software licences.
- Reporting & analysing monthly P&L results.
- Interrogating data & working closely with commercial finance to provide meaningful commentary on variance to forecast.
- Involvement in external audit to demonstrate effectiveness of financial controls and confirmatory reconciliations.
- Opportunities for project work within the finance team as part of process improvement and management of changes and growth in the wider business.
- Previous experience in a similar Assistant Management Accountant role
- Studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/AAT)
- Competent user of MS Excel for data preparation and analysis, with a clear and methodical style
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central accounting software (desirable)
- Proactive, organised individual comfortable working to set deadlines
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
