WeBuyAnyCar was founded in 2006 and is the UK's largest dedicated car buying services. Headquartered in Greater Manchester, WeBuyAnyCar offers customers a simpler, more efficient and easier way to sell vehicles compared to private sale or part exchange. As such, WeBuyAnyCar (WBAC) has built a trusted brand where customers can dispose of their vehicle independently of a new acquisition. As the market leader, they offer national coverage, competitive prices and an unparalleled customer experience. WBAC is part of Constellation Automotive Group. They are always look to retain talent within the business and, as would be expected in a fast growing, successful organisation, there are many opportunities to take on further responsibility and grow with the business.
Background to Exercise
Axon Moore first worked with WeBuyAnyCar when they were a start up many years ago. We placed their first Financial Director (who is now MD) and their first Financial Controller (now FD) alongside many other hires. This long term relationship has resulted in Axon Moore subsequently recruiting a large number of positions for an true North West growth and success story WeBuyAnyCar, from Graduate-level through to Directors, and on permanent and temporary basis. Our placements have been in both the core finance and commercial finance teams and have included Finance Graduate, Commercial Finance Analyst, Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner and Head of Finance. Our close relationship with them has coincided with their continued outstanding growth, and in 2021, WeBuyAnyCar instructed Axon Moore to assist with the recruitment of a Senior Finance Business Partner along with other more junior roles within the finance functions.
Our Response
Following conversations with the Finance Director at WeBuyAnyCar to discuss the roles in detail, we advised on the market, salary benchmarking and showcased how we could add significant value to this recruitment process. For the role Senior Finance Business Partner, a brief was taken alongside advice on the budget and with regards to suitable of candidates in the market. As such, we created a and presented a high calibre shortlist which helped WeBuyAnyCar to identify candidates for their interview process. Several interviews were conducted and the the Finance Director and Managing Director found the successful candidate extremely impressive, which resulted in a superb and highly successfully hire.
Outcome:
As a result of our help, WeBuyAnyCar were able to successfully hire a superb Senior Finance Business Partner. Both Axon Moore and WeBuyAnyCar believe that the individual will grow and develop and progress within the business for years to come. We continue to work closely with WeBuyAnyCar and we regularly place graduates into the business in more junior positions who support the Financial Controller.
