The Business
Lonza is a global organisation with their main UK Shared Service Centre based in Manchester City Centre. They are a preferred global partner to the pharmaceutical, biotech and nutrition markets. They focus on enabling treatments that prevent illness and support healthier lifestyles. Optimising scientific innovation and manufacturing technology to enable their customers to serve their patients and consumers.
Background to Exercise
Through the pandemic, Lonza had a huge period of growth. As a result of this the Global Shared Service Centre experienced a period of growth, Therefore they needed to recruit multiple Accounts Payable Clerks with specific European Languages, previous Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger experience and extensive SAP knowledge. Initially they were looking for candidates to join the team on an ongoing temporary basis. Lonza gave us the chance to fill a German and French speaking Accounts Payable role. As we filled that successfully we were put on the Lonza’s PSL and have been given the opportunity to work with other finance departments in the business.
Our Response
Initial briefing - key responsibilities were identified. Undertook a specific search on job boards, LinkedIn and within my Shared Service Network that I had grown through the last few years of working in recruitment. I then long listed candidates and interviewed candidates to make sure they met all the requirements to do the vacancy.
Short list - presented within 48 hours after the initial briefing. I presented 4 candidates that were highly experienced Accounts Payable Clerks that spoke the languages required and had extensive Shared Service Centre and SAP experience.
Offer and acceptance - following Lonza’s interview process, an offer was made to two candidates that had ticked all the boxes and met the requirements. Axon Moore supported the offers negotiations and maintained contact and engagement throughout the candidates notice period.
Outcome:
Lonza have since recruited multiple candidates via myself and Axon Moore and we continue to work with them today. We are now on their preferred supplier list and we continue to have a fantastic working relationship with them.
